Frequently asked questions
- What is the renewal window for business electricity?
- The renewal window is the period before your contract ends when you can switch without paying exit fees. It's often 30, 60, 90 or 120 days before the contract end date, depending on your supplier and contract.
- When should I compare electricity rates?
- Compare at or before the "recommended compare date" shown by the calculator. That gives enough time to get quotes, choose a deal, and have your new supplier arrange a future-dated switch so your new contract starts when the old one ends.
- What happens if I miss my renewal window?
- If you don't switch before your contract ends, you may be rolled onto out-of-contract or deemed rates, which are usually much higher. Use the calculator to see your latest safe date and avoid that.
